Students must wear:
A clean pressed gi (karate suit) and belt with SAMA badge sewn on the left breast. Karate girls are allowed to wear a plain white t-shirt or vest under their karate jacket but boys must be bare chested under their karate jacket. Also no jewellery is allowed be worn during thegrade test including earrings. If you are unable to remove earrings please can they be taped over for the day of the grade test.
Karate pre-grade class:
The class gives children extra practice on the day of their test. This class has many benefits for the students including; Practice on all aspects of the grade work, practice on blocks, kicks & punches, stances, breathing, strength, focus etc all very important to achieving a good pass. An extra confidence boost to shake off any nerves and highly reduce the risk of failure. Children can also obtain final blue stripes on thier belts for grading at this class if needed.
We are unfortunately unable to have parents staying within the hall during the lesson or the grade test. This is due to safety as there would be a very large number of parents within the hall and another important factor is distraction to the children who need to concentrate on their training towards the grading.
Parents are welcome to stay within the centre although the foyer can sometimes be tight for space. Alternatively once your child has been booked in, you can go and return at the end of the class. If parents decide to leave can they please make sure they are not late on their return to meet their children at the end of the pre-grade class.
Grade fees - All payable on the day:
- £25.00 per student this includes pre-grade class, grading fee and belt.
Also available on the day:
There will also be a variety of equipment and accessories available to purchase on the day of the grading.
